After barely getting any sleep, Genevieve was worn out from taking care of her twin newborns, Lily and Lucas. Even though Halloween was coming up, she was too tired to take part in the fun.
At that point, she saw eggs all over her car. She thought at first it was a joke, but her friend Brad said he did it and was proud of it. His reason? His fancy Halloween show couldn’t be seen because of her car.
Genevieve was mad as hell, but she was too tired to fight. She promised to teach Brad a lesson instead. She saw his weakness: he was proud of the fact that his house was haunted. Brad had to be the life of the party.
Genevieve came up with a plan. She casually suggested that Brad improve his screen with high-tech gadgets, suggesting broken machines that got bad reviews. Brad fell for it.
Brad’s house was a show on Halloween night, but his new tools were hilariously broken. The fog machine shot out water, the ghost projector showed a wacky blob, and his inflatable Frankenstein fell over.
People laughed, and Brad’s scary ghost house turned into a joke. Teenage boys egged his house, which was the last straw.
The next morning, Brad said sorry, feeling down and ashamed. Though Genevieve said yes, “Funny how things have a way of balancing out, huh?” Brad didn’t say anything.
Genevieve was smarter than her cocky neighbor and taught him a good lesson: don’t mess with a mom who is tired.
Brad was nicer after that, and Genevieve could finally enjoy Halloween because she knew she had been strong for her family and herself.
