Molly’s life turned upside down when her mother died when she was 17. Her father Danny showed up out of the blue. They hadn’t seen each other in eleven years. Danny was a “drunkard,” according to Molly’s mother, but when they got back together, Molly found out the truth.
Daniel, a truck driver, had been paying child support, but Molly’s mother wouldn’t let him stay because she was afraid of his impact. Danny asked Molly to move in with him after the funeral, and she reluctantly accepted.
Danny had problems as they got used to their new life together. To meet Molly’s physical needs, he had to learn how to do things like clip her hair and make changes to his house. But he was set on making her feel loved and at ease.

He took Molly dress shopping for a beautiful prom dress and then told her he was going to be her date. It was clear that Danny loved and supported them as they walked into the prom. In the beauty of the dance, Molly forgot about her limits for a night.
Danny had been working two jobs to save money for Molly’s medical care. She didn’t know it, but he was a truck driver and a carer at a nursing home. Danny was set on making it happen because a doctor had said he could help Molly walk again.
Their lives changed after prom. A bunch of parents were touched by Danny’s love and sent a $10,000 cheque to help pay for Molly’s surgery. Molly learnt how to walk without using crutches after the surgery went well.
Danny quit his second job to spend more time with Molly now that she can do things on her own. He taught her how to cook, dance, ride a bike, and run before she went to college.
Danny’s constant love and sacrifice made Molly want to take advantage of all the opportunities in life. He showed that the love of a parent can get through anything, and that the people we love the most are sometimes the best fighters.
She knew she was lucky to have her dad when she looked at him. Her life had changed because of Danny’s love, and they would always be connected.
